Hiving is a free-to-join paid online consumer panel. By becoming an active member of our consumer community, you’ll have the opportunity to give your opinions by answering our online surveys In return, your contributions are rewarded with Hiving Points that you can exchange for cash.
Surveys are about current and future consumption trends. Your opinions will provide important feedback for producers and suppliers and will have an impact on the products and services they put on the shelves.
No, it doesn’t cost you a penny. Our online consumer panel is 100% free. Brands and market research companies pay us to carry out surveys and we in turn pay you for filling them out.
To register on Hiving, click on "Register" and fill out a short registration form. You will then receive a confirmation email. Just click on the link on this message to activate your account.
In order to guarantee an accurate and well-rounded representation of national consumers, Hiving is looking for a variety of profiles.
There are only 2 simple requirements to joining our online consumer community:
We need to collect information about you in order to place you in the most relevant consumer panel. For example, we won’t send you an online survey about diapers if you don’t have babies at home. All of the basic information we need is included in the registration form, however we encourage you to fill in your important information listed in the "More surveys" section to ensure an accurate match. The more complete your profile is the more surveys we can send you.

Go to the Hiving home page and click on "Login". At the bottom of the screen that appears, below the "Login" button, click on "I forgot my password" and follow the instructions.
You can convert your points starting from a threshold of 4,000 points. Go to your Member Area and choose the "Convert my points" tab on the left side of the screen. You can convert your points via PayPal or Amazon. Your Hiving points are valid without any time limit.
When big events such as a wedding, a birth or the purchase of a new car, happen in your life , it’s important to add them to your profile. The more information you can put into your profile the more likely you are to qualify for more paid surveys. So, updating your profile means more survey opportunities for you.
You can delete your Member Account at any time by visiting your Member Area. At the top right of your screen, click on "Profile" then on "Your Profile". In the "Settings" section click on "Unsubscribe".
It depends on your profile. However it is generally between 2 and 4 times per days. We try not to give out too many surveys per month in order to guarantee the quality of the answers. In line with industry best practice, we avoid over-soliciting our panellists, sending out no more than 2 invitations a day.
No, you are not obliged to answer all of the surveys we send you. But of course, the more surveys you fill in the more points you will earn!
Surveys vary in length. In general a survey takes between 5 and 30 minutes to complete. We will always include a time estimate in the survey description.
It depends on the length of the survey (between 100 and 2000 points). The length of the survey will always be written in the survey description. If you still aren't sure how many points you earned for a survey, check your "My Wallet" balance in your Hiving Member's Area after you are done.
This can take up to 15 / 20 minutes and depends on the survey’s length and the projects complexity.
To start, please make sure that all of the themes in your Member Area ( i.e. Health, Home, Automotive, Electronics, etc.) are completed. Members with fully completed profiles get priority and thus get first grabs at the limited Panelist spots. As they say, the early bird gets the worm!
However, if you have completed all the questionnaires in the members area and still do not receive any invitations, we recommend that you check whether our messages do not end up in your spam folder.
The minimum is 4,000 points.
Unlike its competitors, Hiving imposes no limits on the use of Hiving points. They are valid without any time limitation.
You can see how many points you've earned, by checking the balance in the "My Wallet" section in your Hiving Member Area.
You can be eliminated for 2 reasons:
At the beginning of each survey, you are asked to answer some pre-selection questions. We do this to verify that you match our client’s criteria and that you will be able to give relevant answers to the survey. If it turn out that you don't quite match what our client is looking for, you will unfortunately be eliminated from the survey.
When starting a project with us, our clients describe the types of people they need to fill in their survey. This can include criteria as basic as age and sex or something as specific as your favourite brand of window cleaner. Once we have put the profile together, we send survey invitations to those Members corresponding to said profile, based on the information you have given us about yourself. However, the more specific the clients request is, the less likely we are to find the necessary information in your existing member profile. Therefore, we need to ask you these questions in the pre-selection survey in order to verify that your profile matches.
We understand that it can be frustrating, but it’s hopefully a lot less frustrating than answering an entire survey about a product that you aren't interested in!
Unfortunately, in order to guarantee the reliability of the collected answers, we can only generate one link per participant.
Some surveys happen to have technical problems, very often because the latest version of your browser (Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.) must be updated. Google Chrome seems to be the most comprehensive one to enable you to access all the surveys.
You can participate only once in a survey.
This is why the opening links of a survey cannot be opened but once. If you open the link for the first time, it will not be possible to open it a second time, even if the link is still displayed on your Member's area. If you started it on your mobile phone, you must complete it on your mobile phone. If you started it on your PC, you must complete it on your PC.Some surveys are not yet available on tablets and smartphones.
This does not depend on Hiving but on research institutes. Beware, you can participate only once in a survey. This is why the opening links of a survey cannot be opened but once. It is possible that our partners select targets which are really very special and look for very specific profiles. In some cases, your profile may not be selected after a few very specific questions. In our jargon, we talk about "Screen Out".
It may happen that, when you respond to a survey, our partner already has the desired number of respondents. In our jargon, we talk about "Quota Full" (or reached quota). To avoid this inconvenience, we recommend that you reply to a survey as quickly as possible.
You can participate in a survey only from the country where you have registered. When you go on holiday abroad, you cannot reply to surveys.
You can participate only once in a survey. If someone among your relatives is connected to the same computer's IP address, this person and you cannot both reply to the same survey. Your two registrations, profiles and IP addresses must be different in order to respect the survey’s policy rules.
It may happen that you get eliminated from a survey if your response deadline is too long. In this case, your answer cannot be saved by our partner. Each survey has a limited time span, and we invite you to respect the deadline indicated on the invitation. The response time is one of our criteria of quality and commitment.
